We had planned and prepared for two full years for our multi-continental journey, but we couldn't prepare for the magnificent sights, sounds and people we would encounter.

On our first trip out of the U.S. we weren't prepared for: rude American travelers, exchange rates or meals that were served "complete"...heads, tails, gills, feet, tentacles and EYES! (and that was just breakfast). They would look up from the plate as if to say, "Eat me and I'll haunt you for the duration of your meal". How insulated we Americans are. We look forward to sharing our MANY adventures on this website. HERE'S THE TRUE STORY ABOUT THE NOW "INFAMOUS" PHRASE!

When we were confronted with plate after plate of eyeballs, tongues, tentacles, fins and teeth, we just had to do something. Rather than fight it, it occurred to us that it might be fun to roll with it. Thus began the saga of "NOTHING WITH EYEBALLS". While sending emails home to friends and family, a dear couple decided upon the perfect Birthday present for me. After all my ranting about body parts, they purchased a domain name. To our delight it was "nothingwitheyeballs.com". Joyously, we began to ask each waiter or server how to say the phrase in the language of the country we were visiting and all went well. To your right you will find all the phrases we found. The three gentlemen shown above were our servers at a great little restaurant in Brugge, Belgium. We asked at dinner one night how to say the phrase in the language of the next city we were going to visit. They wrote it out for us and off we went. After having shared the phrase with our next server, and after he wiped the tears of laughter away, he informed us that we were the brunt of a very funny prank. It seems our "friends" had us declare "Please don't serve me anything with testicles". Upon our return, they claimed their innocence but as you can see, they lack a certain sincerity.
